Mindfulness is paying attention to the present moment, in a kind and non-judgmental way. Studies suggest that cultivating a mindfulness practice can have physical, psychological, and social benefits.
Maya Schofield is an elementary school teacher with Guilford Public Schools where she teaches mindfulness to students, faculty and staff. She has recently completed the Teacher Training Program with Mindful Schools and is a certified meditation teacher through MNDFL NYC and The Mindfulness Center in Bethesda, MD.
Please plan on attending all four sessions and wear comfortable clothing. You may bring a yoga mat or blanket to practice on if you wish.
